The DCMS has announced a review of the exemption from paying
charges to the ICO and, as one stage in that review, a public consultation is
being held that will last until 1 August. You can access the consultation

The DCMS state that the aim of the consultation is to obtain
views as to whether the current exemptions from paying charges are still
appropriate and whether there should be any new exemptions.
The current exemptions are to be found in the schedule to
the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018 (SI
2018/480).
