New Code of Practice on the Investigation of Protected Electronic Information

By virtue of the Investigatory
Powers (Codes of Practice and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2018 (SI 2018/905),
a revised code of practice, ‘Investigation
of Protected Electronic Information’, comes into force on 15 August. It supersedes
the code of practice issued under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers
(Investigation of Protected Electronic Information: Code of Practice) Order
2007 (SI 2007/2200). The Order also makes various amendments to the RIPA 2000 and the IPA 2016 in
relation to surveillance.
