A new ICO code of Practice is open for consultation until 5 March 2010. The Personal Information Online Code of Practice aims to set out clear, comprehensive recommendations for handling personal data properly and for giving individuals the right degree of choice and control over it. It also seeks to help all organisations with an online presence to negotiate areas of legal uncertainty by adopting good practice.
The consultation seeks the views of those who will be affected by the new code and asks for suggestions for improving it.
The draft Code and the terms of the consultation can be found here.
