It is a trite observation but tech law is truly global and only ever going to become more so.
It follows that we think SCL could sensibly provide a means for members to be able to monitor development and trends from the world over and, to that end, we are currently recruiting a network of our overseas members and contacts who we hope will act as our eyes and ears on the ground in the key regions of the tech law world.
The plan is that our Associate Editors will notify us of important legal developments, suggest contributors from their region and participate in other initiatives, such as a podcast or two.
All of which leads me on to two points.
Firstly I am happy to say that we are already up and running with a first contribution from Darren Grayson Chng from Singapore who has provided a brief summary of a proposed Cybersecurity Bill that is out for (a rather curt) consultation now. You can read that here.
Secondly, we have only just started recruitment so if you’d like to volunteer or you have any suggestions then email me via david.chaplin@scl.org. We are looking for Editors active in US, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, China, Brazil, India, Russia & Japan and of course the EU. In return Associate Editors you will receive free membership while they are active in this role and will be listed on the Society page here.
