I am well used to writing about material that I know nothing about – that’s what cut and paste was invented for. Indeed, like most men (and not a few women), I am hard-wired to claim spurious expertise, a trait exacerbated by the consumption of alcohol.
But even I quail a little when writing about developments on a topic where I claim little expertise in another jurisdiction. So, it would be a great help to the main body of SCL membership if those members with real knowledge and understanding about the dispute between the Irish music industry and the Internet Service Providers Association of Ireland could lend their expertise by way of commenting on the report on it. In other words, take a look at the related article if you’re Irish (and yes that is the only justification for the awful punning title). If you are reading this and are not an SCL member (whyever not?), you can email with comments at lseastham@aol.com.
In fact, the new interactive capacity of the Web site really cries out for more comments and insights from all members. Do take time to take a look and comment – even if you are no more Irish than Barack Obama.
