The publication in epub format is an experiment for SCL and we would be delighted to get feedback from users. It is not intended as a replacement for the printed magazine but as an additional facility for members.
The epub format should work with all forms of tablets and of course can also be read on phones with suitable readers as well as any desktop with appropriate software. Epub is a free and open e-book standard by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Adobe Digital Editions is perhaps the leading example of a free epub reader; you can access it here.
