Description

The SCL Women in Tech Law Group would be delighted for any member of SCL to join us for our annual in person event.  This event is a chance to meet, network with and learn from women working in the many and varied roles in the field of technology law.

We are delighted to be joined at this event by special guest Fran Halsall, triple Olympian swimmer.  Since retiring from sport, Fran motivates people & businesses to be the best they can be through her experiences in high performance sport and, in 2021, kindly agreed to feature in a conversation recorded for the SCL WiTL group for Business Women’s Day.  We are looking forward to Fran joining us again – this time in person – to discuss finding and re-defining purpose, resilience and ambition.

Chair:
Rebecca Keating, Barrister, 4 Pump Court

Speaker:
Fran Halsall, retired English competitive swimmer who has represented Great Britain at the Olympics

Why is this event important?

Most of the SCL WiTL group’s events are hosted as lunchtime webinars, however, there are many benefits to connecting in person, even if only occasionally.  The group has, therefore, committed to providing one in person event each year to help foster these connections between the many brilliant women in our space.

We are particularly delighted that Fran, who is a very engaging speaker, has agreed to join us for what promises to be an inspirational and enlightening evening.

Who is this event for?

We welcome all members of SCL, but particularly women working in technology law in any capacity, including:

  • in-house lawyers in both the public and private sectors
  • solicitors in private practice, from sole practitioners and consultants to large law firms
  • barristers specialising in any aspect of the technology sector.

Speaker: Fran Halsall is a triple Olympian swimmer and spent 10 years maintaining a position as one of the fastest female swimmers in the world.

Fran represented Great Britain at the Olympics, FINA world championships, and European championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games. In the 2010 European Championships she won five medals, making her the most successful British swimmer ever at a single championship.
